Me using a favorite lens...a Tokina 11-16mm |
Nathan Cowan--
I live in southern California. Although I have made money looking through the viewfinder of a camera for quite a few years now, I have never really been able to look at photography as a business. To me, a camera body, lenses and a bag full flashes will always be toys. It's fascinating what you can do with a lens and light. You can twist reality and create an environment that doesn't exist. Taking pictures is one thing, but making pictures is something entirely different. In my opinion, photography is really about control and manipulation of light. It's not about faithfully capturing the scene, instead it's about creating the scene that you will capture.
The Internet is such a great resource to share ideas, to learn, to teach. So I created this blog to join in the fun. In it I'm sharing ideas that I have learned in the field, from reading books and you guessed it, reading other peoples blogs. I hope you'll find some ideas here that will help fire your imagination. Thanks for reading.
